Part of Theo Fennell's ongoing mission to support and nurture up and coming masters of jewellery design, this Feather Opening Double Ring/Pendant is made from 18ct White Gold and features a 6.74ct Golden Beryl Marquise. It is one of five unique pieces designed by talented Central Saint Martins students and handcrafted by the country's leading craftsmen in our Chelsea workshop.
“My source of inspiration was the Nicobar pigeon, native to some of the most isolated islands in the world. The feather-like structures of the ring recall those that radiate around the neck of the bird and the diminishing golden rays of sunlight that pierce through the canopy of the forest in which it lives. Like a bird in flight, I play with the idea of solid vs. void in this ring, with one half remaining hollow while the other suspends a golden beryl. A small pleasure is reserved for those who close the double ring and see it transform into a semi transparent egg-like pendant- just as the depths of the forest are a mystery from above the canopy, so is the secret in this jewel.” - Zuleika Penniman
